The research group for Algorithms in Bioinformatics at the University of Tuebingen is led by Prof. Daniel Huson and focuses on the design and implementation of algorithms to address computational problems in genomics, phylogenetics and microbiome analysis.

The research group for Algorithms in Bioinformatics now invites applications for a

PhD Position (E 13 TV-L, 75%, min. three years) 

in Computational Microbiome Analysis.

The PhD position is focused on the design, implementation and application of algorithms for the analysis of microbiome data in a biotechnology or medical setting. Applicants must have a Master’s or diploma degree in Bioinformatics, medical informatics or a related field, with strong programming skills and a keen interest in working closely with life-science researchers. Ideal starting date: April 2019.

The position also involves teaching in bioinformatics.
